how to read the dreamer's tarot
At first I shuffle. I draw without looking at the cards, and take out the cards that fall out fully, or just a little bit, while shuffeling. I fully tune into my feelings and intention while I draw. In my opinion, that‘s the secret. I feel what cards want to come out, and let them. Without watching really, just while shuffeling. But of course, you can also lie them down in a nice line and draw them out when you have them all in front of you.
In general I read from left to right: past - present - future, and from bottom to top: past - present - future. In bigger spreads, the cards that lie closest to myself, so on the bottom of the spread, represent more the past energies, or also the energies, which we are coming from. The base. The further the cards lie away from me, the more they reach to the future.
Reversals: I personally read reversals as looking inwards, inside the soul landscape, for personal matters that would not necessarily have anything to do with anybody or anything else outside of the person that I‘m reading for, The upright cards are representing the matters that are regarding life aspects in relation to the person‘s surrounding.
The simplest reading that I do, is just 3 cards for past, present and future. Pretty simple. When I look at the card‘s meanings, I get a first impression of what it is about, but more important than knowing their meaning is to feel their message in connection to the question. For example in relation to love, success, personal life, etc, it‘s important to get inspired by the card‘s image and it‘s meaning to then interprete them fitting to what is asked. That personal interpretation is based 1. on the cards image and meaning, and 2. on my feelings and perception of energies, that come from the cards.
This is a spread that is a little bit more complicated, which I like to use. I start with the middle card: the present, to explain the present moment what‘s happening right now. Then I usually draw out the past and the future card, which here represent more the recent past and the nearer future. So far it‘s quite similar to the 3 card spread. Then I draw the base or the general issue, which pretty much explains what the whole issue is built on, what happened before, in the more recent past, kind of like the fundament for what‘s going on. The fiifth card is the outcome or the more further future on top of the spread. These 5 cards are all in all already a whole spread. But if I am more curious, I just draw 2 more cards for the base or the fundament, and two more for the outcome, here in grey colour and marked with „+1“. In the end I just get out one more to have a general overview next to the whole spread as well. That‘s the 10 card spread for more curiosity.
